Crafts Zone™ Est.1969⎮ Authentic Moroccan Rugs⎮Authentic Moroccan Leather Poufs;

''MOROCCAN BERBER RUGS Morocco has a long tradition of weaving some of the most beautiful rugs in the world.
Even as early as the 8th century, when the Berber tribes settled in Morocco, precious Moroccan rugs were woven.''

For more than a thousand years, tribal women have hand-tied wool rugs, sourced from sheep that grazed on the mountain tops of the Atlas Mountains.

Today, the tribes continue to live in the mountains and the artisan techniques are passed from mother to daughter.

Moroccan rugs have exclusive patterns and colors, as they are made by hand without following any fixed pattern.

The weavers imprint on their work their interpretations of important experiences and events in their lives: symbols of love, nature and happiness are recurring motifs in Moroccan rugs.
